Loved this book. If you enjoy a suspense story then this quick read is for you. Mikey Hardin meets Grace Bell in a very complicated time it just so happens to be when he is accused of murder. Mikey is trying to get more time with his son but his ex-wife is using the murder as a way to keep him away. Grace is trying to move on from a bad marriage when she first sees Mikey in a diner and one thing leads to another and they are sitting at the same table having dinner together. Mikey doesn't tell Grace about being accused of murder because he doesn't want to scare her away but things come to a head and she finds out anyways. This was a really good story, has strong likable characters and a plot that will have you trying to figure out who the killer really is. I'd recommend this to anyone that likes a good read.Product details

I just love a romance with lots of drama and suspense included in it and this one sure made me sit up and notice it. The story-line was awesome and I really enjoyed the characters. A five star read for me. I volunteered to read an advance copy of this book and also purchased it.
This was a great must read. It had me on the edge of my seat. It was well written, fast paced had a great storyline. Mikey and Grace are characters that you root for from the beginning. The side characters add to the story. I enjoyed this book and recommend it to all. I received it from booksprout and voluntarily left my review.

This is the 2nd book I've read written by A.J. Norris; she has done a great job at writing another good book. I will definitely be reading more of her books.
The story line caught my attention at the very beginning and kept me interested throughout the entire book.
The author gave me goosebumps as I read this story. The suspense was fulfilling. The romance was beautiful. I wasn't sure where this was going as I like the romance part but am not a great fan of serial killer mysteries because my favorite characters always get taken out! Regardless, the author delivered in this book. The plotline was so effective, it kept me on the edge of my seat. Well done.
All Mikey wants to do tattoo people raise his son and maybe have a girlfriend but when love ones are dying he knows and the detectives are asking him questions what Is a guy supposed to do? Mikey meets grace but they both hold secrets will that carry their relationship! I loved this twisted thriller book!

This is the first book I've read by this author and I thought it was good. I love me a tattooed bad boy and Mikey did not disappoint. He and Grace had their share of baggage but they worked well as a couple. I couldn't help but root for them. There was some suspense with some steamy scenes mixed in. The storyline kept me guessing. I'm looking forward to reading the next book in the series.

So after I finished Her Black Wings I went in search of Norris' other works in my library, I think suspense/murder mystery is my second favourite genre and this book does not disappoint. The author is good walking across genres and the plot is just as satisfying even without paranormal characters. Even if the culprit was a wee bit predictable the way the story evolves was perfectly woven to satisfy even the most picky of readers, for me that is more important than an out of the blue twitst. Well done, very well done.
